# Cohesivity vs Auth0

Auth0: “Secure AI agents, humans, and whatever comes next.”

Auth0 is identity as a serious discipline. Single sign-on, multi-factor, fine-grained authorization, token vaults, machine-to-machine, bot and breach detection, and now an explicit product line for authenticating AI agents and MCP servers. If auth is a compliance-grade concern for your app, Auth0 is one of the deepest tools there is, and you build against it after signing up.

Cohesivity is nowhere near that deep on auth, and it should not pretend to be. What it offers is Google social login as a single line in a backend that also has a database, storage, hosting, and AI, all provisioned by your coding agent with no account. So the comparison is lopsided in Auth0's favor on identity. Cohesivity's only edge is that basic login comes with the backend and needs no signup.

| who it is for | Agent-built apps that need simple sign-in and a place to keep users. | Apps with real identity requirements, up to enterprise and compliance. |
| billing | Free $0, Plus $20, Pro $100, one shared balance. | A free tier, then paid plans that scale with users and features. |

where Cohesivity fits

- Login without a separate identity platform. The agent provisions social login with the rest of the backend, so there is no Auth0 tenant to set up first.
- One backend, not a stack of vendors. Auth arrives next to the database, storage, hosting and AI from the same API, with the keys managed for you.
- Enough auth to ship a build. If Google sign-in and user storage cover your app, the agent provisions that. You are not standing up an IAM platform to get a login button.

when Auth0 is the better call

Pick Auth0 if identity is a hard requirement. SSO, SAML, fine-grained authorization, MFA, and audit-grade controls are far beyond a single social-login option, and for many apps they are non-negotiable.

Pick Auth0 if you are selling into enterprises or handling sensitive access. Its depth, certifications, and threat detection exist precisely for that, and Cohesivity does not compete there.

This is not a close call on auth itself. Auth0 is the specialist and does a great deal Cohesivity does not. Cohesivity only makes sense here when your auth needs are simple and you would rather they came free with the backend.

questions

### Is Cohesivity an Auth0 alternative?

Only for simple cases. Cohesivity provisions Google social login as one service in a no-signup backend. Auth0 is a deep identity platform with SSO, MFA, and fine-grained authorization that Cohesivity does not match. If your auth needs are anything beyond basic login, Auth0 is the stronger tool.

### What auth does Cohesivity actually provide?

Social login via Google OAuth: the sign-in flow, user storage, and tokens, provisioned by the agent as part of the backend. It is intentionally narrow.

### Do I need an Auth0-style account and tenant to start?

No. Cohesivity provisions login with the backend and no signup, and you claim the project later. Auth0 requires an account and a configured tenant.

### Can Cohesivity handle enterprise SSO like Auth0?

No. Enterprise SSO, SAML, and fine-grained authorization are Auth0's territory, not Cohesivity's. Cohesivity offers basic social login only.
